Experience:
| Stuart specialises in all aspects of patenting in the fields of biotechnology and molecular biology. A registered patent and trade mark attorney, Stuart is a member of the firm’s Life Sciences team. He has extensive research experience, and uses his knowledge in his patent work to seek the broadest protection for an invention.
“The importance of intellectual property protection is to strengthen a company’s commercial position by looking at all of the strategic aspects of an invention’s value, not just determining whether it can be patented,” says Stuart.
While Stuart’s particular interest is working with Australian pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients in the development of commercially focused IP strategies, he has extensive experience in all patent matters related to the capture, prosecution and defence of Australian patents. He has worked with some of the largest biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in Europe, United States and Japan in the successful prosecution of their Australian patent applications. Stuart has also represented a number of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in patent disputes.
