David has over 15 years of experience as a registered patent attorney. He has extensive experience in technology relating to building and construction and mechanical engineering, materials engineering and mining products. David’s practice focuses on assisting Australian and international companies in leveraging and protecting their IP.

David also has extensive experience in patent searching and presents regularly on IP issues to a broad range of audiences. David has acted as expert advisor on behalf of World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO). David’s day to day practice involves providing strategic advice on patent and design matters, patent drafting, prosecution and opposition as well as providing licensing and commercialisation advice and litigation support.

David enjoys using his educational background in civil engineering to assist Australian companies with the development and commercialisation of their IP portfolios. While a main area of his practice deals with building materials and products, he also has extensive experience in mechanical engineering, materials engineering and mining products, and business processes.
