GRIFFITH HACK NAMED 2007 IP SPECIALIST FIRM OF THE YEAR AT ALB AWARDS21-May-2007
Griffith Hack has won the Law Council of Australia IP Specialist Firm of the Year at the prestigious Mazda ALB Australasian Law Awards. “We are ecstatic to have won this award. Having kept our heads down and concentrated more on servicing our clients than self-promotion in the past, we’ve long been ‘the quiet achiever’”, said Griffith Hack partner and head of the firm’s IP law group Benny Browne. “The Intellectual Property Research Institute of Australia has consistently recognised Griffith Hack as the largest filer of Australian originating patent applications for the last decade. We’re thrilled to now be recognised as Australia’s top IP specialist firm at such an esteemed awards event.” The effervescent television, radio and print personality Julie McCrossin was MC, entertaining guests and presenting a number of prizes and give-aways, including a Riviera watch, a weekend for two to the Hunter Valley, and a $4000 Omega watch. Recognising outstanding legal achievements of 2006 across a broad spectrum of legal disciplines, the awards were presented during a gala dinner which gave guests the opportunity to do some serious partying and networking, in addition of course, to celebrating the profession’s top performers. The ALB IP award highlights the growing competitiveness in this area of law. “IP law is no longer a niche area as property laws become increasingly complex in Australia and New Zealand,” said Browne. Established in 1895, Griffith Hack Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys and Lawyers is one of the largest and longest standing IP firms in Australia, with over 200 staff nationally in its Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth offices. |
