Final investment decision on Ichthys LNG Project - Griffith Hack

The FID for the US$34 billion Ichthys LNG Project, was announced on 13 December 2012 by co-owners Inpex Corporation and Total S.A.. Preliminary construction works of the onshore LNG plant and associated infrastructure at the Blaydin Point site in Darwin will commence shortly.

Contracts for major offshore work packages have been awarded, including:

  • Central processing facility – Samsung Heavy Industry
  • Subsea Production system – General Electric
  • Subsea flow line construction and installation – McDermott in cooperation with Heerema
  • Gas Export pipeline – Mitsui-Europipe, Sumitomo, Nippon Steel-Metal One (pipe manufacture); Mitsui-Bredero Shaw (pipe concrete coating); Saipem (pipelay).

The contract for floating production storage and offloading vessel will be announced in the coming weeks. Further details can be viewed at this link.
