Designs - Griffith Hack

A design registration provides protection for the appearance of either a two or three dimensional article. Design registration can be powerful where the article must have that appearance (e.g. a spare part) or where the appearance has high aesthetic appeal.

However, a design registration does not provide protection for the function of an article and, if functional protection is required, this can only be achieved using the patent process. Griffith Hack's attorneys are experienced in utilising design protection as and when appropriate.
